Terry is now doing what he loves for a living: working as a self employed music teacher and musician

• Terry Allingham, 38, Sheffield, was supported by A4e.
• Previously Terry had worked in a series of short-lived jobs in offices, shops and catering to pay the bills but ten years ago, he had a breakdown and became a recluse. He was unable to work because of his anxiety, depression and panic attacks and was put on Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
• When he told A4e that he wanted to pursue a career in music they were extremely supportive. 
• They put him on courses to understand marketing, register as self-employed and to manage his taxes.
• Terry, who has a degree in jazz studies from the prestigious Leeds College of Music, now teaches up to 10 pupils a week at a children’s music college and is working to build up his business playing and singing at weddings and other events.
