I wanted to reach out and invite you to join us for an event on Employability Day about how employers and recruiters can think beyond ‘tick box inclusivity’ to attract and retain refugee professionals.

Refugees do not fit neatly into any one of the 9 protected characteristics and face a unique set of barriers, which means that they are often disadvantaged in the hiring process. Renaisi’s own research has shown that this is the case even when diversity initiatives are in place. Renaisi runs two services that support refugees to find and sustain work:

  1. The National Lottery funded RISE programme, which is designed to help refugees to integrate, support their wellbeing, and find work.
  2. The Transitions service which is targeted at refugee professionals who want to restart their engineering or construction careers in the UK.

Join us and our guest speakers, including employers and refugee professionals from Network Rail among others, at 10.30-11.40 on Friday 30th April 2021 to share insights on how to access the untapped talent of refugee professionals and build a more inclusive workplace.
