ERSA welcomes positive Work Programme statistics

ERSA welcomes the latest Government statistics on the Work Programme which shows that 401,000 people have now entered sustained work since the programme began in June 2011 until December 2014. The Work Programme has now helped more people into sustained work then any previous employment scheme. 

This positive news is mirrored in ERSA Job Start statistics released this week, which found that overall 680,000 people have entered a job since the programme began in June 2011 until December 2014.
Key stats from the release include:

• Nearly 1.7 million people have joined Work Programme.
• Approaching a quarter of those with sufficient time to do so spent at least six months in work (or three for the harder to help); 401 thousand individuals in total.
• More than 1 million individuals have completed their allotted time on the scheme. Of those completing the programme, approaching a quarter were still in work at the two year point (or providers had received the maximum payments)
• All contracts achieved minimum performance levels for each group in the last full financial year (April 2013 to March 2014).
