ERSA has today released the latest round of job start figures for the Work Programme, for the period of April-June 2017. These show that 844,451 people have now gained some work through the scheme, while the number of young people gaining work has reached 203,492.
The full report can be accessed here.
Welcoming the report Kirsty McHugh, ERSA Chief Executive, said:
“Although the Work Programme is now closed for referrals there are still a significant number of jobseekers gaining support from the scheme. Today’s report continues to underline the success of the initiative overall in helping people to enter work and transform their lives.
“The vast majority of the 844,451 people supported into jobs by the Work Programme were long-term unemployed. As the government reduces its investment in procured employment services, it will be critical for jobseekers to receive the support they need to build strong communities and a more inclusive economy post-Brexit.”
