Shaw Trust has been awarded two of the government’s recently tendered IPES (Intensive Personalised Employment Support) contracts. The two, six year contracts will provide people who are long term unemployed and require additional support to return or enter meaningful work.

The Trust, which already delivers the Work and Health Programme and National Careers Service, in the contract areas of central and home counties, was awarded the contracts after it submitted two successful bids offering an innovative delivery model working with partners Health 2 Employment and Genius Within.

Chris Luck, Shaw Trust’s CEO, comments: “I am delighted Shaw Trust has been awarded two of the largest contract areas for the new IPES programme. Shaw Trust is committed to creating and enhancing opportunities for people who are, for whatever reason, marginalised. Many of those we will be supporting on this programme will have already tried other approaches and it is our task to ensure their experience on IPES is different and inspirational, giving not only practical advice to get them back into work, but more importantly giving them back their sense of self and drive to achieve.”

The IPES programme win builds on Shaw Trust’s previous DWP work with the Supported Employment Support contract, Aim4Work initiatives, community and wellbeing support, young people’s targeted work with NEETs and children, employment information, advice and guidance in custody and with offenders, and work with learners and apprentices.
