Jennita wanted to find a job that used her skills and was helped to start her own business

Jennita Toussaint 31, was struggling to find a job that would reflect her skills. A few weeks after her referral to A4e in Newham she enquired about starting her own business. Her A4e advisor guided her through the stages from signing off benefits to registering the business. Her advisor helped her to make all of the relevant phone calls, such as to applying for working tax credit and registering the business.

Today she owns her own cake baking and decorating business, called Glorious Cakes Galore. She has a new website and is looking forward to growing the business.

“I have always had an ambition of starting my own business, but I felt as though I was constantly hitting a brick wall and getting nowhere. All I really wanted was to be able to support my family, while doing what I enjoyed.
